Feel the urge to lodge a complaint? First, protect your own interests (not to mention time and frustration!) by understanding the process.

The HOA is responsible for upholding the adopted CCRs (covenants, conditions & restrictions) that govern home ownership in Majestic Oaks. By purchasing a home in Majestic Oaks, you agreed to abide by those covenants and it is your responsibility as a homeowner to be familiar with them. In some instances, HOA rules are more stringent and restrictive than City’s ordinances; in which case, the HOA rules take precedence.

The City of Edgewater is responsible for Code Enforcement of its Ordinances and is staffed to handle complaints. There are many ways to report code violations:

• Use this link to report online through the City’s website
• Write a letter (PO Box 100, Edgewater, FL 32132)
• Call the office (386-424-2400 x2210) to speak with someone and/or leave a message
• Speak to a Code Officer at the office (1605 South Ridgewood Avenue)

Each complaint is investigated and handled by a Code officer. If a violation is found, it is addressed through a notice issued to the owner of the property (not the tenant).

If you are reporting a violation anonymously and want to check on the status of the case you can contact the Code office or use this link.  Per Florida Law we are required to give the property owners a reasonable amount of time to correct the violation(s). DO NOT continue to call in anonymously and report the same violation as if nothing is happening. If the violation is not being corrected there is a reason for it. Make contact with a code officer and he will explain what the current status of the violation is.
